Our Story

Hey, we’re Jonnie and Ryan — and here’s the VideeBop story from my eyes (Jonnie).

For a couple of years, my company Cat ’n Mouse had an office in a co-working space in Santa Monica. Right outside our door, there was always this guy glued to his laptop like he was hacking into NASA. We never spoke… until one day I noticed his Metallica shirt and said, “Cool shirt.” That was it. From then on, we talked every day and became friends. That guy was Ryan.

I was running Cat ’n Mouse’s event staffing division, and we had just landed a huge campaign with a major food delivery brand. Suddenly my inbox was overflowing. Hundreds of applicants. Endless emails. Phone tag. Missed video calls. People flaking left and right. It was like a full-time job just to set up interviews — on top of my actual full-time job.

One day I thought: There’s gotta be a better way. What if I could just type a few questions, send out a link, and get back short videos of people answering in their own words? They could record whenever, I could watch whenever, and I’d instantly get a feel for their personality without all the chaos.

I told Ryan about it, and he just said: “Let’s build it.”

And that’s how VideeBop was born.

Since then, we’ve kept it super simple on purpose:

  • No apps.
  • No downloads.
  • No subscriptions.
  • No headaches.

Just $1 per video.

Since launching VideeBop, I’ve received over 3,000 applicant videos — and honestly, it’s saved my sanity.

We built this because I needed it, and now we’re sharing it because we know it’ll make hiring easier, more fun, and less stressful for companies and applicants alike.
